Jeff Compton began his journey as an artist at an early age, influenced by his sister, Evacrawfordart.com, and his father, both of whom became highly influential artists. Jeff continued creating through his early twenties, grappling with the decision between pursuing a career in art or business while in college.
His path was determined when an art professor questioned Jeff, saying, “You’re not really going to pursue a career in art, are you?” Jeff laughed to himself, thinking, “I guess my art’s not so fine!”
In the subsequent semester, Jeff devoted himself exclusively to a business degree, setting aside his brushes for almost 30 years. He successfully established a business and shares his life with his amazing wife, Lisa, and their two wonderful children, Jake and Kalie.
Though his interest and respect for art persisted, Jeff only engaged in discussions about art with Lisa and others. Then, about 5 years ago, Jeff picked up his brush again, resuming from where he left off. He felt he needed roughly 3 years of painting just to regain his artistic groove, and now he's thrilled to share his work with you.
Jeff primarily focuses painting with acrylics on canvas, creating bright colors and excitement. Thank you for visiting Jeff Compton’s Not So Fine Art!
